Tony Scheele Morelli
I try to use observation and descriptions of reality (particularly nature) to relate something of the essence of that thing rather than a detailed replication. Because silverpoint is both visually delicate and time intensive I usually find myself inspired to capture a sense of the slowing of time. I always try to use the low tonal range of silverpoint in a way that seems to whisper rather than to speak or shout. The viewer might not be immediately drawn in, but then, hopefully, will want to spend time with the quiet, stillness and detail of the image.
